Physical fitness is very important for longer and quality life. You have to be active not only to look good, but to feel better and to make your every day activities much easier.
The maximal oxygen uptake is the best measure of overall cardiovascular fitness.
Scientists from Norwegian University of science and technology have conducted a study to investigate this, based on more than 4,600 healthy Norwegians (age between 20-90). Participants were tested how long they can hold out on the treadmill. Based on achieved results they came to the specific measures that are now being used in the calculation. From that results they developed a model that allows anyone to calculate their maximal oxygen uptake. The result will tell you in what condition is your body, respectively how old is it. Model can also be a good material for doctors, health authorities, for possible prevention of illness.

It's very simple. You will need to enter some basic information's: age, training habits (if you are working out), waist measures, and your pulse.


Fizička kondicija je izuzetno važna za duži i kvalitetniji život. Trebate biti aktivni, ne samo da biste izgledali lepše, već da biste se osećali bolje i kako bi svakodnevne aktivnosti učinili mnogo lakšim.
Maksimalna potrošnja kiseonika je najbolja mera kardiovaskularne kondicije (fitnesa).
Kako bi istražili ovo, naučnici Norveškog Univerziteta za nauku i tehologiju, sproveli su istraživanje bazirano na više od 4.600 zdravih Norvežana (starosne dobi od 20-90 godina). Učesnici su testirani koliko dugo mogu izdržati na traci za trčanje. Na osnovu tih rezultata, dobijene su mere koje se koriste pri izračunavanju. Tako je napravljen model koji dozvoljava svima da izračunaju maksimalnu potrošnju kiseonika. Rezultat će vam pokazati u kakvom stanju je vaše telo, odnosno koliko je staro.
Inače, model može biti jako koristan lekarima, zdravstvenim institucijama radi mogućih prevencija bolesti.

Veoma je jednostavno. Potrebno je da unesete osnovne informacije: godine, učestalost i intenzitet treninga (ukoliko trenirate), obim struka, i puls.
